8Dio – Studio Vintage Series Studio Clavinet (KONTAKT)

The Hohner Clavinet D6, also known as the Clavinet, is a musical instrument that is adapted to modern musical styles, especially sampling. We at 8Dio have carefully worked on this instrument, creating samples that do not require additional processing.

The Clavinet resembles a piano in appearance and mechanics, but its sound is more like a rich and powerful electric guitar. This is due to the size, placement and length of the strings, as well as two separate pickups that can be used separately, combined and inverted.

The Clavinet was recorded and processed in detail at Gorbals Sound Studios in Scotland using a Neve desk. The audio was then mixed down to 48 kHz for easy streaming. All available pickup options and multiple speakers were used to create the sustain samples, allowing for high-precision sound customization.

The Clavinet also offers full control over velocity response, resonance and release triggers, pedal volume, analog noise control, and full ADSR control. From sharp leads to soft melodic lines, the Clavinet is capable of conveying the full depth of funk.
