In the city of Lens in the Netherlands, in 1734, a new organ was installed in the church of St. Peter, created by the organ builder Albertus Antonius Hins, a student of Arp Schnitger, who studied with his son Frans Caspar Schnitger.
The organ has 27 registers, divided into two manuals and a pedal. The installation of the instrument was completed in December 1734. The sound of the instrument is different from other works by Hins, such as in Midwold or Harlingen. Therefore, in terms of sound, it is closer to the tradition of Arp Schnitger. The organ is large enough for a small church. The body of the organ is richly decorated with carvings and sculptures made by the masters Theodoor van der Haven and Caspar Struywig.
