Sample library for the Hauptwerk organ emulator.
In the city of Lens, located in the Netherlands, in the church of St. Peter in 1734 a new organ was built by the organ builder Albertus Antonius Hins, a student of Arp Schnitger, who studied at the same time as Arp’s son Frans Caspar Schnitger. It had and still has 27 registers, divided into two manuals and a pedal. The installation of the instrument was completed in December 1734.
The sound of the instrument is noticeably different from other works by Hins, such as in Midwold or Harlingen. Therefore, in terms of sound, it is closer to the tradition of Arp Schnitger. The organ is large enough for a small church. The richly decorated body, carvings and sculptures were made by the masters Theodoor van der Haven and Caspar Struywig.
